Knee pain is one of the most common sports complaints. The knee itself is rarely the only story, because the hip and foot influence how it is loaded.
We look at the whole leg, how you move and what you do in training, so that treatment goes beyond the sore spot.

Common causes
- Patellofemoral pain (around or behind the kneecap)
- Patellar and quadriceps tendon irritation
- Ligament or meniscus injury
- Iliotibial band irritation on the outside of the knee
- Joint stiffness or weakness at the hip and ankle that overloads the knee
How we treat it
Treatment may include soft tissue therapy, joint mobilisation, dry needling, shockwave for tendon problems and a progressive strengthening and landing-control program. We also check footwear and training load.
For runners and field sport athletes
Most knee pain in sport is about load: how much, how fast and how often. We help you modify rather than stop, and build back to full training in steps.
What to expect at your first visit
The first appointment is 45 minutes. See what happens at your first visit.
- A conversation about what happened, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to
- A hands-on examination of the painful area and the joints and muscles around it
- A clear explanation of what we find and what we recommend, including how long it may take
- Treatment at the first visit when it is appropriate, plus exercises to take home
